Casa Camaleón

  • 6 Guests
  • 3 Bedrooms
  • 4 Beds
  • 2 Bathrooms

Casa Camaleón is a gorgeous villa brimming with wonderful, traditional Moroccan style, arched doorways, feature ceilings and beautiful light fittings, and sits elegantly in the hills above El Portet beach in Moraira. Here you get to relax and unwind in your own private piece of north African inspired heaven. Landscaped gardens with a large infinity swimming pool, shaded outdoor terraces, mature olive and fruit trees and you get to enjoy stunning views of the mediterranean sea and mountains.

Completely private, the swimming pool and surrounding terrace provide the perfect spot to relax under 2 large shady terraces and a Naya, with a large grass area below with ancient Olive tree. The villa has 3 large bedrooms all with air-conditioning and ceiling fans. The master bedroom is a large room with private landing, en-suite shower room, a king-size bed, plenty of wardrobe space and its own private terrace with coffee table to enjoy the fabulous views to El Portet. There are a further 2 bedrooms on the lower levels; a double bedroom and a twin room sharing a large family bathroom with bath and walk in shower. There is a further separate WC on the mid level.

The living room is very spacious and cool, it is adjacent to the pool and both the terraces and dining areas. In a “open plan” style the living room connects to the dining room and kitchen and incorporates a work station for guests who need to do a little work while on vacation. The living room has 2 air-conditioning units meaning it is always cool and comfortable. The kitchen connects seamlessly with the dining area which comfortably seats 8 people. The kitchen itself continues the Moroccan theme with blue tiles, and a stunning statement stone sink.

The kitchen is incredibly well equipped and has a large fridge freezer, induction hob, Smeg toaster and a Nespresso capsule coffee maker. Outside there is a neat summer kitchen with sink and a large electric plancha (hot plate style) BBQ and a further dining area for 6 guests. In front of the living room there is an African style covered terrace with a further informal dining area for 4 guests to enjoy a snack, play cards and enjoy a glass of Cava, along with the dining area there is also a lounge seating area for 4 people.

When you venture down to the lower level you will find a beautiful and unexpected surprise, your very own natural stone “bodega” or Spanish wine cellar, perfectly cool and with plenty of space for all the wine you could want as well as a small whitewashed seating area, perfect for escaping from the poolside entertainments and just chilling out with a book and your favourite choice of wine.

The villa is completely secure and has an electronic entry system on the main gate. The parking is secure and available for 2 small cars or one medium sized car, there is also plenty of street parking in front of the villa.

The villa is only a 25 minute walk from the famous El Portet beach with its restaurants, bars and secluded beach and also only 5 minutes from the centre of Moraira by car, which is a necessity for this villa.

Casa Camaleón is one of our favourite villas in Moraira, it offers luxury and a very high standard of accommodation but with the flare of north African styling and a great location.

Moraira is a magical beach-side town just a short distance south of Javea on the coast of the northern Costa Blanca, approximately a 30 minute drive from Benidorm to the south. Moraira was a thriving fishing village but over time it has changed into a high end holiday destination, somehow it manages to cater perfectly to the tourism industry, with high end luxury villas and apartments whilst retaining much of the charm which has long attracted visitors and Ex-Pat residents.

Moraira is blessed with a wide selection of stylish cafés within its pleasant streets For authentic Spanish dishes why not visit Las Gaviotas in the square opposite the church. The main fish restaurants are located on the front overlooking the small port and fish market (La Lonja) where fish auctions take place every morning at 10am except Sundays. Well worth seeing. In Moriara there is an old port with some beautiful bars and restaurants overlooking the Marina.

15 minutes drive away is the town of Javea the jewel of the northern Costa Blanca; it still functions as a fishing port with the boats leaving every day and returning with their catch. Alongside the rag tag fleet of fishing vessels can be found the multi million euro yachts and family pleasure cruisers all moored in the famous port area below Puchol’s grand villas. Javea has 3 separate distinct stretches of coastline and is very much a lived in area which is popular with visitors and holiday villa seekers. Views across the bay are spectacular.

Playa de l’Arenal is Javea’s most famous (but not only) tourist beach area. It is a dreamy setting stretching no more than 300m from the well located Parador hotel in the north as far as the famous Javea nightclub “Achill” in the south. The Arenal is home to every type of café bar and restaurant, which are set back from the wide promenade and beach. With views across the bay and a family chilled out atmosphere this is the perfect beach holiday get away. With fine golden sand, volleyball nets, various boutique shops and ice cream parlours stretching along the promenade, you can also find plenty of play areas for the kids. The fine sand leads down to the shallow Mediterranean waters making this a safe and exciting beach for all the family.

Denia lies some 15km north of Javea along a spectacular winding mountain road over the Montgo Mountain or a easy drive past the small towns of La Xara and Ondara. It is a bustling resort with a classic Spanish traditional old town, fine restaurants and blue flag beaches stretching for many kilometres, even in the height of summer finding a quite spot is always easy. The Marques de Campo is a lively street, lined with open air restaurants with a real world food theme serving everything from traditional rice and tapas as well as tastes from Germany, Holland and the UK. All these restaurants have adequate open air seating which makes for a meal with great atmosphere, with the added bonus of shading from the trees lining the avenue, many an hour can be spent watching the world go by. The surrounding streets are great for shopping, with plenty of boutiques and designer clothing outlets; Denia provides the best shopping between Valencia and Benidorm.

There is plenty for the kids to do if they get bored with the swimming pool and beaches. Less than 20 minutes away there are many attractions for all ages including ‘Terra Natura’ animal park, ‘Mundomar’ an animal water park, ‘Aqualandia’ a themed water park and ‘Terra Mitica’ a huge fun park, boasting some of the largest rides in Europe.

Golf: Within 40 minutes drive of the villa is La Sella Golf Club. The Olazabal designed La Sella Golf Course is near the village of Jesús Pobre. The course has 27 holes, par 72 and is 6,029 metres for 18 holes. The course although flat has many trees and water obstacles and presents a very good challenge. Facilities include : driving range, putting green, motorised trolleys, club bar, lounge bar, restaurant and swimming pool.

Jávea golf club, between Moraira and Jávea and is open all year round. The course is a 9 hole, par 72 and measures 3,035 metres. The course is easy to play and relatively flat. Other facilities include : driving range, putting green, club bar and restaurant..

Within a 40 minute drive north in Oliva is Oliva Nova Golf Club, designed by Seve Ballesteros. This testing course has 18 holes, is par 72 and measures 7,051 metres. The club has a shop, driving range, restaurant, swimming pool and fitness centre.

We can assist with bookings and the villa is a perfect place for a group of golfers to use as a base. Please use the link below to book your discounted round.

There are also very good courses at Benidorm, Valencia and Alicante, in particular the famous 18-hole championship links course at El Saler, for those who don’t mind an hour or so drive before the round.

We can help with any golf arrangements prior to your arrival.
